WHAT IS prp?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a cosmetic treatment that is used to improve skin health, prevent aging, assist with overly sensitive skin and promote hair growth
WHO SHOULD HAVE PRP TREATMENT?
PRP is a great treatment to be used for preventative aging or for skin healing. The main factor in accelerated aging is dehydration in the skin. When our skin is dry and in need of hydration we develop lines and wrinkles faster. PRP is a great way to immediately boost hydration and correct damage that has already developed from damaged skin. PRP is also a great treatment to heal skin that has been harshly treated, either from sun damage or even using the wrong products. PRP will help the skin heal and will soften skin texture and tone.
ARE ALL PRP TREATMENTS THE SAME?
No, there are many different devices, mixtures, and practises on the market for PRP. However, only very specific equipment and techniques can give great results. PRP is very sensitive to movement, handling, mixing, and injection. If PRP is handled to aggressively or injected into the wrong layer of the skin, the benefits of PRP will be wasted. V Line has developed techniques and treatments to ensure each client receives great results with their PRP.
DOES PRP HELP WITH SCARS?
Well…a little bit. PRP is a great treatment to heal skin and improve skin texture and tone. However, some scars will need more aggressive treatments to see more dramatic results. Often, scars are imbedded in the deep skin layers, these scars need to be stimulated with laser to start healing again. It is best to come into speak with a practitioner to see which treatment is best for your skin.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
The general recommendation is 3 treatments at 1 month apart. However, everyone is different, some people may only need 1 or 2 treatments. Most clients see great results after 1 treatment. More often, we combine PRP with other treatments such as laser therapy and facials for the most effective and fastest results. Each client is given a personalized plan from start to finish, so number of treatments varies for each person.
IS PRP DONE WITH MICRONEEDLING OR A GUN, DOES IT HURT?
No, PRP does not hurt. We will use a numbing cream on the skin to ensure you are very comfortable during the treatment. Often, our clients say they feel nothing. Microneedling and an injection device or gun can be used to administer the PRP. The results will vary with each method and depends on the reason for treatment. Microneedling is often best used for people with oily skin, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture. The PRP gun is best for those looking to prevent aging, improve hydration, and brighten skin tone.
